I took a photographer position with Lifetouch Church Directories and Portraits, and so far I'm liking it. It's very similar to what I did before with Prestige Portraits by Lifetouch (high school seniors)... except now I get to photograph all ages, groups, even doggies! So far so good and I'm really enjoying getting to know my coworkers. I am already perfectly suited for this job.
I believe that this came to me at the perfect time. Unemployment was starting to worry me, and it looked like it would take a while for the EMT certs to come through. Don't get me wrong though. I am completely dedicated to my goal of Paramedic. I am actively applying to EMT jobs all over So. Cal. and hoping for the best. If possible, I'd love to do both jobs for a while. EMTs work minimum of 12 hour shifts (some up to 24!) so I'd only be working 2 or 3 days per week. It would be simply amazing to be able to do them both. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Crystal Cove
Mandy asked if Angel and I would mind being her practice models for some engagement shots she was going to take down at Crystal Cove beach. It's just north of Laguna Beach and just as beautiful. We had a great time pretending for her and enjoying the day. If you're ever in the area, I recommend checking it out (although there's a parking fee). Make sure you walk all the way down the beach and take a look at all of the condemned houses in the older section. gnarly.
Here are a couple that Mandy took of us!

Photobooth!! at Caplan's - I mean Nuzzalo's Wedding :)
Went to Julie & Tom's Wedding yesterday at the Ebell in Los Angeles.. completely awesome!! Their vows alone were reason to be there. Both of them are quirky, fun, fantastic people :). I've never been to a Jewish wedding before, so it was interesting to see some of their traditions... Lisa was the planner (Dolores Ann Events), Kurt & Em the photographers, and I got to see a lot of old pals from Pic Tage. Check out Kurt's Blog for more action! They even hooked it up with a photobooth which gave you 2 copies.. one to keep and one to put in the guestbook (SUCH a great idea!). Congrats guys! Best of luck in your life together :)

The Salton Sea
North Shore Marina, Playground and Pool

Bombay Beach Pier, Mobile homes & RVs

Mandy and I went out to the Low Dez yesterday for some much needed personal shooting. OH. MY. GAAHHH. Absolutely gorgeous. The Salton Sea was supposed to be a huge tourist destination back in the first half of the 1900's, but flooding, disease and eventual evaporation of much of the water has forced it into the desolate state in which it now remains. We're planning a trip back to explore even more of the sea in a few weeks. I can't wait!!

Long Beach PUG
I went the the LBC PUG with my pals/coworkers and was privleged enough to get to hear my buddy Kurt Hilmerson give his Studio Spotlight. What an inspirational dude :) My favorite part was when he talked about getting kicked out of photo shoots by the cops. loved it! Paul Manke is the brand new PUG leader and is doing a kick ass job so far! (i also loved the drive in, as i got to take the Vincent Thomas bridge)
